Negotiations with representatives of Greenmax, JST and Kstar on supply of inverter equipmment for 15 MW ZAVODSKAYA SPP/PRESS RELEASE

    06.10.2016

October 2-5, 2016 – the delegation of Solar Systems and the representatives of GREENMAX, JST and KSTAR factories held a working meeting in Guilin and Shenzhen (PRC) within the framework of execution of the contract for supply of inverter equipment for 15 MW Zavodskaya SPP. In October, JST and KSTAR will start to supply inverter equipment components to the GREENMAX factory in Azov, where assembly and testing will take place.

In December, GREENMAX will start to supply inverters to the site of construction of 15 MW Zavodskaya SPP.

Inverter is a key link in chain of transmission of power from solar module to network. Inverters are responsible for conversion of DC to AC. They also regulate SPP power generation and ensure quality of electric energy. KSTAR 1 MW inverter is the first Chinese inverter to be localized in Russia. GSL2250 inverter stations, which will be installed at Zavodskaya SPP, outperform all inverter stations, previously used in Russia. KSTAR for the first time in a long history of working in the Russian market has decided to supply its best product for implementation of SPP construction project in Astrakhan Region.
Russian company GREENMAX will implement localization, installation and commissioning of inverter equipment at Zavodskaya SPP construction site.

"Within the framework of implementation of the investment program for construction of Zavodskaya SPP in Astrakhan Region, Solar Systems uses the most advanced technologies, which are available today in solar generation. Obviously, construction and operation of solar parks in Russia will require significant knowledge, scientific research and a reliable technical platform. Cooperation with GREENMAX, JST and KSTAR factories is an important step in this direction", - said Mikhail Molchanov, Solar Systems CEO.
"Supply of equipment for Zavodskaya SPP is an important event for development of Russian-Chinese partnership in the energy sector. We are pleased that Solar Systems is ready to cooperate and to develop "green" energy. We hope that Solar Systems will be actively involved in commercialization (localization) in Russia and other projects, based on the Chinese platform. Our developments in the field of generation will be interesting to implement at other sites in Russia", - said Deng Hongxia, Head of International Marketing of KSTAR.

Zavodskaya SPP will be located on a land plot with an area of 26 hectares. 58 thousand photovoltaic modules (each with capacity of about 260 watts) will be responsible for collection of solar energy. All panels will be directed to the sun at an angle of about 30 degrees, as this is the best angle to collect solar radiation in Astrakhan Region. Rows of modules will be mounted so that panels will not shade each other. The distance between rows will be of around 8 meters. The SPP will reach peak power output at the time of highest solar activity, when the sun is at its zenith. Zavodskaya SPP will be fully automated. Warranty period of each module is around 15 years, lifetime of the SPP is 25 years. Zavodskaya SPP will produce clean electricity with no emission of hazardous substances into the atmosphere. Carbon emission reduction with virtually no waste or other negative impacts on the environment will be more than 3784 tons.
Total volume of investments in construction of Zavodskaya SPP will be about 3 billion rubles, up to 50 people will be provided with jobs for the period of construction. After the SPP starts operating at full capacity, regional budget will annually receive more than 67 million rubles of tax payments.

Solar Systems, LLC was established in March 2014 for the purpose of construction and operation of solar power plants on the territory of Russia. The company is currently implementing projects in Samara and Astrakhan Regions. Solar power plants in Volgograd Region, Stavropol Krai and the Republic of Kalmykia are planned to be constructed in the next two years. Due to commissioning of 10 solar parks, total installed capacity of power systems of these regions will increase by 240 MW. Cumulative investments will surpass 32 billion rubles.
